LUCC Meeting Minutes November 2nd, 2017
Welcome – President Roman Hernandez called the meeting to order and welcomed all attendees.
Self-Introductions – Roman Hernandez, President-34 people were present.
Meeting Minutes –Meeting minutes were approved at the opening of the meeting.
Treasurers Report – Kent Anderson: Not present
Publicity & Education– Jim Franklin: No new changes
Damage Report– Brian Siria: Not present
Web Page– Debbie Jenkins: Up to date
OUCC Standards Review – Robert Spencer: Not present
Old Business: Run to Stay Warm, November 19th -Can park 811 trailer at Valley River Center Hotel. Tobin to bring to Eugene and hand over to Roman.
Still need volunteers for Run to Stay Warm—contact Debbie.
- 2 volunteers to host the 811 trailer
- 2 volunteers to host the water trailer
- 1-2 volunteers to work the Table at the registration area
- A Volunteer between 5’9”-6’ tall to volunteer to wear the Digger costume.

More damages by Kansas City Contractor. Haven’t called for standbys, work vehicles are unmarked and have mixed contractor crews. They are working for Charter installing Fiber.
- Jim or Roman to make contact with Charter if more instances happen.
- Please share so that we can add up situations to present to help fix problem.
Contractors receiving emails that Locating companies cannot make the locate timeline on the day the ticket is due.
- What can the Contractor do?
- Often the Contractor’s crews have already travelled to work site (sometimes an hour drive) and cannot perform the work.
- No locates = no work
- Contractor’s don’t want to file RAAs-would like to figure this out at the same level.
***Call Facility Owner –Make contact and express conflict with current situations and try to come to an agreement.
Program: Damage Prevention initiatives that have changed discussions about safety performance, Right-of-Way contractor pre-qualification, permits and stakeholder partnerships.
